Teya Dora - Džanum English Translation
(*My darling/soul)
Nobody wants, my darling
**Not for anything in the world
To try and heal my wound
Nobody wants, my darling.
As the night falls, the same dream comes back
Standing before me is a saint holding black linen
That voice is calling me into the grey sea
I have no luck, there's no salvation for me (There's no salvation for me).
Nobody wants, my darling, nobody wants my pain
Or to be moved to tears or for me to surrender to them
Nobody wants, my darling, nobody wants my pain
On my pillow, restlessly, I dream of evil.
Till my final summer, till the world ends
My fate is cursed
This soul has no home, this soul has no tone
Candles of a black dawn are burning, my nightmares.
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares, my nightmares.
Till my final summer, till the world ends
My fate is cursed
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares.
Nobody wants, my darling
Not for anything in the world
To try and heal my wound
Nobody wants, my darling.
* - Džanum can mean both my darling and my soul. To me, my soul fits slightly better in this line.
** - "Ni za živu glavu" - the original lyric's literal translation into english is "not even for a living head", a term used by serbian, croatian and bosnian languages (not sure if any others use it tho) that exaggerates something you don't want to, wouldn't or shouldn't do. so i settled on "Not for anything in the world", because it makes sense, yet somewhat still keeps the original meaning.
